the Rabbit God and Purity Engendered

The Chinese rabbit god, Tu’er Shen, is also the god of forbidden love in ancient Chinese society. In this project, the idea of a “forbidden love” is turned to a modern context by examining the idea of a forbidden love between oneself and one’s true gender identity.

A collection inspired by the sensation of drowning in a frozen lake, combined with elements from the Chinese drama “the Untamed”, including traditional Chinese hanfu styles and white snow rabbits.

Technical Design

This project is a fully formed tech-pack for a puffer jacket design, similar to the physical puffer jacket in the garment gallery. This tech pack includes a quilting layout, lining, technical call outs, and a bill of materials.
