deconstructive fusion
The focus of this project was deconstructing and recycling old worn denim and fusing it with wool roving using needle felting to create a brand new textile.
Keeping the deconstructive theme, this new yarn was then crocheted into a new interpretation of a sweater, reminiscent of a decomposing fishing net.
Paired with the exaggerated silhouette of oversized pants, there is a clear juxtaposition between the solid and the dissolving.
